Donald Trump has signed a deal for the United Arab Emirates to build the largest artificial intelligence campus outside the US.

The agreement, signed during the president’s visit to the Middle East, would give the UAE broad access to advanced AI chips. Sources told Reuters it could be allowed to import 500,000 of Nvidia’s newest chips a year from this year.

The deal is a big win for the Gulf state, whose ambitions to become a major AI player have been thwarted by limited access to US chips.

May 1 (Reuters) - A stablecoin launched by Donald Trump's World Liberty Financial crypto venture is being used by an Abu Dhabi investment firm for its $2 billion investment in crypto exchange Binance, one of World Liberty's co-founders said on Thursday.
It's the latest in a series of Trump family crypto-related ventures, including a "meme coin" launched in January, that have drawn criticism from government ethics experts and political opponents over potential conflicts of interest.

World Liberty, which aims to allow people to access financial services without intermediaries like banks, said in March it would launch USD1, a dollar-pegged stablecoin backed by U.S. Treasuries, dollars and other cash equivalents.
Speaking at a crypto conference in Dubai, Zach Witkoff, a co-founder of World Liberty, said USD1 would be used to close the $2 billion investment by Abu Dhabi-based MGX into Binance, the world's biggest crypto exchange.
"We are excited to announce today that USD1 has been selected as the official stablecoin to close MGX's $2 billion investment in Binance," said Witkoff, who is a son of Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.

Earlier on Thursday, Comey shared a picture on Instagram with seashells formed in the numbers "86 47." To some, the number "86" is a call sign for murdering or getting rid of someone or something and "47" is typically used to refer to the 47th President of the United States.

"Cool shell formation on my beach walk…," Comey wrote in the caption of the picture, which has since been deleted.

Gabbard made the comments on "Jesse Watters Primetime" Thursday night after Comey said he wasn't aware that the number "86" stands for some sort of violence.

As part of the latest Republican push in red states to promote ideologies sympathetic to Donald Trump, Oklahoma’s new social studies curriculum will ask high school students to identify “discrepancies” in the 2020 election results.

The previous standard for studying the 2020 election merely said: “Examine issues related to the election of 2020 and its outcome.” The new version is more expansive: “Identify discrepancies in 2020 elections results by looking at graphs and other information, including the sudden halting of ballot-counting in select cities in key battleground states, the security risks of mail-in balloting, sudden batch dumps, an unforeseen record number of voters, and the unprecedented contradiction of ‘bellwether county’ trends.”

The revised curriculum standard comes at the behest of Ryan Walters, the state school superintendent, who has publicly voiced his support for Trump. In October, Walters lauded Trump in an interview, saying that “Trump’s won the argument on education”.

Walters, who has also advocated for ending “wokeness” in public schools, went on to say: “We have education bureaucrats that are left-wing, elitist, that think they know best for families, and they have become so radicalized that our families are going: ‘What is going on here?’”

Oklahoma’s new social studies standards for K-12 public school students, already infused with references to the Bible and national pride, were revised at Walters’ direction. The Republican official has spent much of his first term in office not only lauding Trump but also feuding with teachers’ unions and local school superintendents.

“The left has been pushing left-wing indoctrination in the classroom,” Walters said. “We’re moving it back to actually understanding history … and I’m unapologetic about that.”

As part of his revisions, Walters also proposed removing education about Black Lives Matter and George Floyd’s murder, Tulsa’s NBC affiliate KJRH reports.

The outlet further reported that the revisions were expected to cost the state’s taxpayers $33m in new textbooks and related material.

The top executive in charge of CBS News resigned on Monday amid President Trump’s intensifying political pressure against the news operation.

Wendy McMahon alluded to a “challenging” past few months in a farewell memo to employees.

“It’s become clear that the company and I do not agree on the path forward,” she wrote. “It’s time for me to move on and for this organization to move forward with new leadership.”

While McMahon did not address Trump’s legally dubious lawsuit against CBS in the memo, the suit has been top of mind in recent months. McMahon has publicly stood up for the news division while its parent company, Paramount Global, has sought to settle with Trump while trying to win administration approval for its pending merger with Skydance Media.

The clash between editorial principles and corporate priorities has profoundly shaken CBS, one of America’s most distinguished broadcast networks.

Last month, “60 Minutes” executive producer Bill Owens, who ran the program that triggered Trump’s ire, said he was stepping down, citing a loss of independence.

Owens and McMahon praised each other at the time, signaling a united front against Trump’s legal attacks.

Qatar says plane offer for Trump is 'a normal thing between allies'
Qatar’s offer to give Donald Trump a $400m Boeing 747 airplane is a “normal thing that happens between allies,” prime minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has said at an economic forum held in Doha.

Al Thani dismissed concerns about Qatar trying to buy influence with its key ally, after the Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer introduced a bill on Monday that would prevent any foreign aircraft operating as Air Force One amid ethical and security concerns.

“I hope that the United States looks to Qatar as a reliable partner in diplomacy that is not trying to buy influence,” Al Thani said.

Trump has shrugged off worries, saying it would be “stupid” to turn down the generous offer. He said the Boeing 747-8 would eventually be donated to his presidential library – a repository housing research materials from his administration, and that he had no plans to use it for personal reasons after leaving office.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Monday that the aircraft “will be accepted according to all legal and ethical obligations.”

“Retrofitting the Qatari plane would cost billions and could never even truly eliminate all catastrophic risks,” Schumer said on X.

The bill would prevent the US from spending taxpayer dollars to retrofit a foreign-owned plane for presidential use.

“There’s absolutely no amount of modifications that can guarantee it will be secure,” Schumer added.

The Trump Organization will invest $3 billion in the Simaisma Project in Qatar, according to a statement.

Qatari Diar, one of Qatar's leading real estate companies, and DarGlobal, a subsidiary of the Trump Organization, signed a strategic agreement Wednesday for a giant luxury resort project in the Simaisma area, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of Doha, which will be Trump Organizations first real estate project in Qatar.

“Trump International Golf Club” and “Trump Villas” will be constructed, said the statement from DarGlobal. The project, which will spread over an area of approximately 790,000 square meters (8.5 million square feet), will include an 18-hole international standard golf course, a Trump Golf Club building and luxury branded villas with direct access to the beach.

The deal was signed at a ceremony at Qatari Diar's headquarters in Lusail. The ceremony was attended by Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya, Qatari minister of municipalities and Chairman of Qatari Diar, Eric Trump, the son of the US president and executive vice president of the Trump Organization. Senior executives from both companies also were present.

The protocol was signed by Ali Mohammed Al-Ali, CEO of Qatari Diar, and Ziad El Chaar, CEO of DarGlobal.

"We are immensely proud to bring the Trump brand to Qatar through this exceptional collaboration with DarGlobal. This debut marks an exciting new chapter in our global expansion, bringing our signature standard of excellence and world-class experiences to this dynamic market," said Eric Trump.

"Trump International Golf Club, Doha, together with our exclusive villa community, will embody the highest levels of quality, prestige, and timeless elegance that define the Trump name," he added.

El Chaar said DarGlobal is “honored to partner with The Trump Organization to deliver this iconic development. With the Trump brand’s global prestige and our deep expertise in creating world-class residential destinations, Trump International Golf Club, Doha will raise the bar for ultra-luxury coastal living in the region."

The project, touted as a new cultural landmark, will cover the Simaisma coast on the east coast of Qatar and stretch along a 7-kilometer coastline.

The project will include a $5.5 billion theme park, “Land of Legends Qatar,” 16 tourism zones, a marina, world-renowned restaurants and shops.
